WHAT TO WATCH FOR

What trenchless sewer repair problem signs actually mean.

Most trenchless sewer line failures don't begin with a sewage emergency. They start quietly — a drain that takes a little longer, a faint odor from the basement, a soft spot in the lawn that wasn't there last season. Homeowners write these off as minor annoyances. They are not.

Every one of these trenchless sewer repair problem signs is your pipe communicating. The difference between a simple CIPP lining and a full sewer line replacement is often just a few months — and one camera inspection that catches the damage early.

LiningWorks runs a high-definition sewer camera on every diagnosis. You see the crack, corrosion, sagging belly, or root intrusion on-screen — before we quote a single dollar of trenchless repair work.

WARNING SIGNS

What are your pipes trying to tell you?

Each trenchless sewer repair problem sign points to a specific type of structural failure. Click the symptom you are seeing for a plain-language explanation and what to do next.

Frequent Backups

Frequent Backups

Repeated sewage backups signal a structural failure deep in your line — not just a surface clog that snaking can fix.

LEARN MORE
Foul Odors

Foul Odors

Persistent sewage smells inside or around your foundation mean sewer gas is escaping through a crack — a trenchless repair can seal it.

LEARN MORE
Slow Drains

Slow Drains

Multiple slow drains throughout the house point to a main-line restriction — roots, scale, or a collapsed section that needs more than drain cleaner.

LEARN MORE
Yard Sinkholes

Yard Sinkholes

Soft spots or depressions in your lawn above the sewer line often mean the pipe has already collapsed, letting soil wash into the void below.

LEARN MORE
Multiple Drain Clogs

Multiple Drain Clogs

When two or more drains back up at once, the problem isn't at the fixture — it's in your main trenchless sewer line.

LEARN MORE
Pipe Sagging

Pipe Sagging

A belly or sag in the line collects waste and creates perpetual blockages — visible only via sewer camera inspection.

LEARN MORE
Sewer Pipe Cracks

Sewer Pipe Cracks

Hairline or full cracks let roots in and sewage out — exactly the failure CIPP lining fixes without any excavation.

Blockages

Blockages

Recurring blockages that return after cleaning are a structural warning — a camera inspection reveals the true root cause.

LEARN MORE
Sewer Pipe Deterioration

Sewer Pipe Deterioration

Aging clay, concrete, or cast iron pipes deteriorate from the inside — fractures and joint separation happen long before a backup occurs.

LEARN MORE
Sewer Pipe Corrosion

Sewer Pipe Corrosion

Corroded cast iron and metal pipes narrow internally before they fail — descaling or CIPP lining can restore full flow without replacement.

LEARN MORE
Cracked Sewer Pipe

Cracked Sewer Pipe

A cracked sewer pipe leaks effluent into surrounding soil, attracting roots and causing ground settlement — both get worse over time.

Sewage Odors

Sewage Odors

Sewage odors around floor drains, in basements, or in the yard are an early warning of a broken seal or crack a trenchless repair can fix.

CATCH PROBLEMS EARLY

Trenchless sewer repair problem sign combinations you should never ignore.

One slow drain can be a fixture issue. Two or more of these problem signs together almost always means a structural failure in the main line. The sooner LiningWorks runs a camera, the simpler — and far less expensive — the trenchless repair.

  • Slow drains combined with foul odors
When restricted flow and sewer gas appear together, a single cracked or corroded section is usually responsible for both. That is exactly the failure trenchless CIPP lining was designed to resolve without opening the ground.
  • Frequent backups after repeated snaking
If the same line backs up within weeks of being cleared, the structural defect — a sagging belly, root mass, or deteriorated pipe wall — is still there. Trenchless repair addresses the cause; snaking just buys time.
  • Yard sinkholes above the sewer path
Soft spots or depressions that track the buried line mean the pipe has already failed and soil is migrating into the void. This is a same-week camera and repair scenario — the sinkhole will grow until the pipe is restored.
  • Multiple drain clogs throughout the home
When a toilet, kitchen sink, and shower all back up at once, the restriction is in the shared main line — not at any individual fixture. Stop using water and call LiningWorks immediately; raw sewage backup can follow quickly.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

Lining Works was excellent to work with. They were perfectly professional. They were organized, efficient, and friendly throughout the whole process. They took time to answer all of our questions. Pipe lining is an incredible option and the team at Lining Works couldn't have been better. They were also transparent, honest, and consistent with their cost/pricing. We couldn't be happier. We feel very fortunate that we found Lining Works. Great guys!

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.
