Problem Signs/Blockages
PROBLEM SIGN · CHARLOTTE, NC
Sewer Blockages in your home — and what they’re really telling you.
A sewer blockage is not always what it looks like. What appears to be a simple clog is often a root mass, a collapsed section, or a belly that keeps collecting debris until the line stops moving. Here is what sewer blockages really mean, and how LiningWorks clears them for good.
Free phone consultation. Flat-rate pricing. No upsells, ever.
We'll call you back within one business hour. No automated systems.
WHY HOMEOWNERS TRUST US
Why Charlotte homeowners call LiningWorks first about Sewer Blockages.
We don't just clear the blockage — we find out what caused it so it doesn't come back. Camera first, flat quote second, permanent fix third. Four things make our blockage calls different.
Sewer Blockages diagnosed by a licensed plumber
NC Plumbing License #16952. Every blockage we clear is evaluated by a licensed technician who identifies the root cause, not just the symptom.
Sewer Blockages confirmed by camera before any work
We scope before we quote. You see what is blocking the line — roots, grease, debris, collapsed pipe — on screen before any jetting or lining begins.
Sewer Blockages cleared at a flat written rate
No hourly call charges. One flat price in writing before we clear anything.
Sewer Blockages cleared without digging in most cases
Hydro jetting and trenchless lining handle most blockages and their underlying causes without any excavation.
Sewer Blockages warning signs you should never ignore.
Some blockages give warning. These are the four signs that mean the main sewer line is affected — not just a fixture trap.
Watch for these Sewer Blockages warning signs:
Complete drainage stoppage in multiple fixtures
If multiple drains stop completely at the same time, the main sewer line is fully blocked. This requires immediate attention.
Sewage backing up into the lowest drain in the home
When the main line is blocked, sewage backs up to the lowest exit point — usually a basement floor drain or first-floor toilet. This is a full blockage.
Gurgling from floor drains when using overhead fixtures
Air displacement from a blocked line has to go somewhere. Gurgling at floor level while upstairs fixtures run means the blockage is in the main run.
Slow drains that suddenly stop draining at all
A partial blockage that has been building — roots accumulating debris, grease narrowing the pipe — eventually reaches full closure. The transition from slow to stopped is sudden.
The most common causes of Sewer Blockages in Charlotte homes.
Almost every blockage we clear in Charlotte traces to one of these four causes.
How Sewer Blockages develop:
Root mass completely filling the line
A root infiltration that started small grows until the pipe is fully blocked. This is the most common cause of complete main-line blockages in Charlotte homes built before 1985.
Grease accumulation reaching full closure
Years of cooking grease have been coating the pipe walls. Eventually the bore is too narrow to pass anything, and the line goes from slow to completely blocked.
Foreign object lodged at a belly or joint
A belly or misaligned joint becomes a collection point for debris. When a large enough object — wipes, a child's toy, accumulated solids — lodges at that point, the line blocks completely.
Collapsed pipe section halting all flow
A pipe that has crumbled inward blocks flow entirely. Jetting can't clear a collapse — the pipe needs repair or replacement at that section.
Sewer Blockages cleared: a Midwood home, completely stopped line.
No drain in the house would flow. LiningWorks scoped and found a root mass filling the pipe at 24 feet — the line was 100% blocked. We hydro-jetted the root mass, scoped the rest of the line, found two entry cracks, and lined both. Full flow restored the same day.
A complete blockage is an emergency, but the repair is straightforward once a camera confirms what is blocking the pipe. Jet, line the cracks, verify flow. One visit, one flat price.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

Lining Works was excellent to work with. They were perfectly professional. They were organized, efficient, and friendly throughout the whole process. They took time to answer all of our questions. Pipe lining is an incredible option and the team at Lining Works couldn't have been better. They were also transparent, honest, and consistent with their cost/pricing. We couldn't be happier. We feel very fortunate that we found Lining Works. Great guys!

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.
