Problem Signs/Multiple Drain Clogs
PROBLEM SIGN · CHARLOTTE, NC
Multiple Drain Clogs throughout your home — and what they’re really telling you.
When more than one drain is clogging at the same time, the problem is not at the fixtures — it is in the main sewer line. Multiple simultaneous clogs are the sewer system telling you a single main-line issue is affecting every drain in the house. Here is what that means and how LiningWorks fixes it.
Free phone consultation. Flat-rate pricing. No upsells, ever.
We'll call you back within one business hour. No automated systems.
WHY HOMEOWNERS TRUST US
Why Charlotte homeowners call LiningWorks first about Multiple Drain Clogs.
Multiple drain clogs require a main-line inspection, not individual fixture work. We camera-scope the line, identify the single cause, and fix it at the source. Four things set us apart.
Multiple Drain Clogs diagnosed by a licensed plumber
NC Plumbing License #16952. Every multi-drain call we handle is diagnosed by a licensed technician who knows the difference between a fixture clog and a main-line failure.
Multiple Drain Clogs confirmed by main-line camera
We go straight to the main line with a sewer camera. You see the actual cause — blockage, root, belly — on screen before we quote anything.
Multiple Drain Clogs fixed at a flat written rate
One flat price for the main-line fix. No per-fixture charges, no hourly guessing.
Multiple Drain Clogs cleared without digging
Most main-line blockages that cause multi-drain clogs can be jetted or trenchlessly resolved in a single visit.
Multiple Drain Clogs warning signs you should never ignore.
When multiple fixtures act up simultaneously, the urgency is higher than a single clog. These are the patterns that mean call us right away.
Watch for these Multiple Drain Clogs warning signs:
Two or more fixtures draining slowly at the same time
If both the kitchen sink and the bathroom drain are slow together, the restriction is downstream of both — in the main sewer line, not the fixture traps.
Toilet gurgles when the washing machine drains
Bubbling or gurgling in one fixture when another discharges is a classic main-line restriction signal. The displaced air has to go somewhere.
Floor drain backing up when using other plumbing
Floor drains are at the lowest point of the system. If the main line is restricted, backed-up water finds the nearest low exit — the floor drain.
Clogs in multiple rooms with no obvious single source
When the kitchen, two bathrooms, and a utility sink all slow down within days, the common denominator is the main line — not bad luck with four separate clogs.
The most common causes of Multiple Drain Clogs in Charlotte homes.
A main-line issue causing multiple drain clogs almost always traces to one of these four root causes.
How Multiple Drain Clogs develop:
Root mass partially blocking the main line
Tree roots that have thickened enough to create a partial dam in the main sewer line slow every fixture above. The roots don't have to fully block the pipe to cause multi-drain clogs.
Pipe belly pooling waste and narrowing flow
A belly in the main line acts like a dam. As waste collects at the low point, less and less water can pass, and every drain in the house slows down together.
Accumulated grease or scale in the main line
A main line coated in grease or mineral scale can slow every drain in the house simultaneously — particularly after a large discharge like filling a bathtub or running the dishwasher.
Partial pipe collapse restricting flow
A partially collapsed section creates a narrow restriction point. Every gallon of wastewater in the house has to squeeze through, resulting in clogs that appear to affect multiple fixtures.
Multiple Drain Clogs fixed: a NoDa home, every drain in the house.
The homeowner had snaked four different drains over two weeks. Each one cleared temporarily and then slowed again. LiningWorks scoped the main and found a root mass at 19 feet and a significant belly at 37 feet. We hydro-jetted the root mass and assessed the belly. The multi-drain clogs stopped the same day.
Multiple drain clogs caused by the main line cannot be fixed one fixture at a time. One camera scope found what four individual snake jobs missed.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.
