WHAT TO WATCH FOR

Which sewer line replacement solution is right for your line?

Not every failing sewer line needs the same fix. A pipe with isolated cracks or root intrusion is a CIPP lining candidate — one day, no digging. A pipe that has collapsed or lost its round shape is a pipe bursting candidate — new full-diameter HDPE pulled through the old path.

The only way to know which solution your line needs is a sewer camera inspection. We map the defects, the footage, the pipe material, and the access points — then recommend the right tool for your specific situation.

LiningWorks uses a high-definition sewer camera on every diagnosis. You see the defect on screen, we explain the options, and you choose with full information — before we quote a dollar of work.

SOLUTIONS

Which solution does your sewer line need?

Each solution is designed for a specific type of failure. Click the one that matches your situation for a detailed explanation and what to expect.

Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining (CIPP)

Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining (CIPP)

A brand-new jointless pipe installed inside the failing one — no digging, one day on site, rated for 50+ years. The most common fix for cracked and root-damaged lines.

Trenchless Pipe Bursting

Trenchless Pipe Bursting

When the host pipe is too far gone for lining, pipe bursting destroys the old pipe outward while pulling new full-diameter HDPE through — no open trench.

Sewer Camera Inspection

Every repair starts with a camera. HD video maps the exact defect, footage, and depth — so the repair spec matches the real line, not a guess.

Hydro Jetting

Hydro Jetting

Pressurized water strips scale, grease, and root debris from the pipe wall — clearing the line completely and preparing it for lining or inspection.

CATCH PROBLEMS EARLY

Signs that a trenchless solution can still save your line.

Trenchless sewer solutions work best before the damage reaches certain thresholds. Four signals that mean you are still in the repair window — not the emergency replacement zone.

  • Root intrusion without pipe collapse
Roots in joints and hairline cracks are ideal CIPP lining candidates. The pipe still holds its shape, the liner can cure inside, and roots cannot grow through the cured resin.
  • Cracked or corroded pipe with intact host structure
A pipe that is cracking or scaling but still round and structurally present can host a CIPP liner. Waiting until it collapses removes this option.
  • Recurring backups without total line failure
Frequent backups driven by root regrowth or scale buildup mean the line is still passable — hydro jetting plus CIPP lining is typically the permanent fix.
  • Pre-purchase or pre-renovation camera scope
Catching a deteriorating line before a sale or remodel is the best-case scenario — you have time to choose the right solution without emergency pricing.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

Lining Works was excellent to work with. They were perfectly professional. They were organized, efficient, and friendly throughout the whole process. They took time to answer all of our questions. Pipe lining is an incredible option and the team at Lining Works couldn't have been better. They were also transparent, honest, and consistent with their cost/pricing. We couldn't be happier. We feel very fortunate that we found Lining Works. Great guys!

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.

FAQ

Sewer Line Replacement Solutions — Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers — same way we'd explain it on the phone.

Depending on pipe condition, trenchless alternatives include CIPP lining, pipe bursting, or spot repair — all without digging a trench across your property.

Open-cut is necessary when a pipe is fully collapsed, has no structural continuity, or when the access geometry makes trenchless methods impractical. We recommend it only when trenchless won't work.

Camera inspection first. The footage shows pipe condition, diameter, access points, and defect type — everything needed to recommend the most effective solution.

Yes. Any new sewer lateral, full replacement, or major repair requires a plumbing permit in North Carolina. We pull the permit and schedule the required inspection as part of every job.
