SOLUTION · CHARLOTTE, NC

Hydro Jetting that clears your sewer line completely — not just punches through it.

Hydro Jetting uses high-pressure water to strip grease, scale, root debris, and buildup from the interior pipe wall — leaving it clean enough to line and far less likely to block again. It is how LiningWorks preps every CIPP install and resolves recurring grease-related backups.

COMMON REASONS

When Hydro Jetting is the right call.

Hydro jetting is used when snaking is not enough and excavation is not warranted. Four situations where jetting is the correct first move.

Hydro Jetting for grease and FOG buildup in kitchen lines

Restaurant-grade grease coats the interior wall of kitchen drain lines until the pipe is nearly closed. Hydro jetting strips it completely in a single pass.

Hydro Jetting for soft root masses before CIPP lining

CIPP lining requires a debris-free host pipe. Hydro jetting flushes the root debris left after cutting, ensuring the liner bonds correctly to the pipe wall.

Hydro Jetting for recurring backups caused by scale

Scale buildup in cast iron narrows the pipe over decades. Jetting breaks up the scale and restores full flow — often eliminating recurring backups without lining.

Hydro Jetting for mineral deposits and debris in older lines

Mineral buildup, construction debris, and hardened sediment reduce flow capacity in older lines. High-pressure jetting clears the pipe to near-original diameter.

CATCH PROBLEMS EARLY

Why Hydro Jetting timing matters.

Hydro jetting is most effective when the pipe wall is still structurally intact. Four reasons to jet before the line gets worse.

  • Hydro Jetting before scale buildup closes the pipe
Scale narrows a pipe gradually. Jetting when the restriction is at 30–40 percent restores flow without lining. At 70–80 percent, the options narrow.
  • Hydro Jetting before lining for best CIPP bond
A CIPP liner cures against the pipe wall. A contaminated wall produces a weak bond. Jetting before lining is not optional — it is required for a quality install.
  • Hydro Jetting catches grease buildup before the block
Grease-related backups in restaurant or high-use residential lines are predictable. Scheduled jetting prevents them before the backup happens.
  • Hydro Jetting before a camera inspection for clear footage
Running a camera through a grease-coated or debris-filled line produces blurry footage that misses cracks. Jetting before the camera scope gives accurate defect data.

SERVICE PROCESS

How our Hydro Jetting process works.

Hydro jetting is a precision process — nozzle selection, pressure, and water volume all matter. Four standards make every LiningWorks jetting job consistent.

Hydro Jetting starts with a camera inspection

We camera-scope the line before jetting so we know the pipe material, diameter, and defect locations. The wrong pressure on a cracked pipe creates a bigger problem.

Hydro Jetting uses nozzles matched to the blockage type

Root debris, grease, scale, and sediment each require a different nozzle pattern. We select and switch nozzles based on what the camera found.

Hydro Jetting runs from downstream back to upstream

We always jet from the downstream cleanout toward the house. Debris is flushed out, not packed further in.

Hydro Jetting is verified with a post-jet camera scope

After jetting, we run a second camera pass to confirm the pipe wall is clean. You see the before and after footage side by side.

SIMPLE PROCESS

The Hydro Jetting process, step by step.

Same five-step sequence on every residential hydro jetting job.

Camera inspection before hydro jetting to assess the blockage type.
Step 1

Camera-inspect the line before jetting.

Every hydro jetting job starts with a camera scope. We identify the pipe material, diameter, blockage type, and any defects that could affect jetting pressure selection.

Step 2

Select the right jetting nozzle for the blockage.

Grease, roots, scale, and debris each require a different nozzle pattern. We select the correct nozzle for what the camera found before inserting the hose.

Step 3

Jet from the downstream access point upstream.

We insert the jetting hose from the downstream cleanout and work back toward the house. Debris is flushed out of the line, not pushed further in.

Step 4

Flush and clear all dislodged debris.

After jetting each section, we confirm the dislodged debris has passed downstream. Full flushes between passes prevent re-packing of broken-up material.

BEFORE & AFTER

Hydro Jetting before and after: a Myers Park case.

A 1940s Myers Park home had recurring kitchen drain backups every 3–4 months. Previous plumbers had snaked it repeatedly. Our camera found a cast-iron line with 65 percent wall restriction from grease and scale. One hydro jetting pass restored full diameter — no backups in 14 months.

Most grease-related recurring backups in Charlotte resolve with a single hydro jetting pass and a follow-up camera scope. No lining required when the pipe wall is still sound.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.

FAQ

Hydro Jetting for Sewer Lines — Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers — same way we'd explain it on the phone.

Hydro jetting clears the line before camera inspection and CIPP lining, ensuring accurate assessment and full liner contact with the pipe wall. It's standard prep for most lining jobs.

Sometimes. If the line has buildup or root mass but no structural damage, aggressive hydro jetting may restore flow and eliminate the need for replacement.

We typically use 3,000–4,000 PSI for mainline sewer cleaning. Pressure is adjusted based on pipe material, diameter, and condition observed on camera.

It removes root mass, but roots regrow through the same openings. For permanent root fix, jetting is followed by CIPP lining to seal the entry joints.
