COMMON REASONS

When Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining is the right call.

Most failing sewer lines in Charlotte are ideal CIPP candidates. Four problems show up over and over — and a CIPP liner handles every one without breaking concrete.

CIPP for root-damaged joints

Hairline roots invade clay-tile and cast-iron joints. CIPP seals the joint with a jointless, smooth interior — roots cannot grow through cured resin.

CIPP for cracked or leaking pipe

Cracks, fissures, and pinhole leaks reseal under a CIPP liner. The result is a structural pipe-within-a-pipe, rated for 50+ years.

CIPP for corroded cast iron

Decades-old cast iron pits from the inside. CIPP bypasses the corrosion with a smooth, full-diameter resin liner.

CIPP for offset and belly sections

Where a section has shifted or sagged, pull-in-place CIPP bridges the defect with a single continuous liner — no excavation required.

CATCH PROBLEMS EARLY

Why CIPP is a timing decision.

CIPP only works while the host pipe still holds its shape. Four good reasons to lock in lining before the line deteriorates further.

  • CIPP works best before total collapse
A cracked line still holds shape for a liner to cure inside. Once the pipe collapses, CIPP is no longer an option — pipe bursting or excavation becomes necessary.
  • CIPP catches root regrowth between snakings
Snaking buys months. CIPP buys decades — roots cannot regrow through a jointless cured liner.
  • CIPP is faster than waiting for the next backup
A scheduled one-day CIPP install beats an emergency excavation every time — in cost and disruption.
  • CIPP preserves trees, driveways, and hardscape
Excavation kills mature trees and breaks driveways. Catching the problem early means CIPP can save the things around the line, not just the line itself.

SERVICE PROCESS

How our CIPP process holds up.

A CIPP install is only as good as the prep, the resin, and the verification. Four standards make every LiningWorks job consistent.

CIPP starts with HD camera diagnosis

Every CIPP job opens with a sewer camera scope. You see the defects on screen — that footage becomes part of the liner spec.

CIPP requires hydro-jetted prep

We hydro-jet the host pipe spotless so the resin liner bonds correctly. Clean wall, good cure, long-life liner.

CIPP uses field-saturated liner

We wet-out the felt liner with two-part epoxy on site, custom-sized to your run. No pre-mixed inventory, no expired resin.

CIPP is verified with a second scope

After the cure, we run a second camera scope end to end. You watch the new pipe-within-a-pipe and keep both videos on USB.

SIMPLE PROCESS

The CIPP process, step by step.

Same five-step sequence on every residential CIPP job — whether the run is 28 feet or 280 feet.

Camera-scope the line before CIPP.
Step 1

Camera-scope the line before any CIPP work.

Every CIPP project starts with a high-resolution sewer camera. We map cracks, offsets, root mass, and city-tap geometry — so the liner spec matches the real line.

Step 2

Hydro-jet the host pipe so the CIPP liner can bond.

Pressurized water strips the pipe wall clean. CIPP requires a spotless interior — any grease, scale, or root debris is cleared before the liner enters the line.

Step 3

Wet-out the felt liner with the CIPP resin.

We field-saturate a felt liner with two-part epoxy resin, custom-sized to your run. Mixed on site so the cure window matches the install temperature.

Pull-in-place and cure the CIPP liner.
Step 4

Pull-in-place and cure the CIPP liner inside the host pipe.

The liner is pulled in, inflated tight against the wall, and cured. The CIPP becomes a smooth, jointless structural pipe inside the old one.

Camera-verify the finished CIPP liner.
Step 5

Camera-verify the finished CIPP liner end to end.

A second camera scope walks the cured line from cleanout to city tap. You watch the finished liner on screen and keep both before and after videos on USB.

BEFORE & AFTER

CIPP before and after: a Dilworth case.

A 1924 Dilworth bungalow with a 28-foot cast-iron main and a clay-to-cast-iron transition that had become a root trap. Our CIPP install rebuilt the entire run in a single day — no excavation, mature oak intact.

Almost every CIPP job in Charlotte follows the same arc: scope, hydro-jet, line, cure, verify. One day, one flat price, a 50-year-rated pipe-within-a-pipe.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.

FAQ

CIPP Sewer Line Lining — Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers — same way we'd explain it on the phone.

In most cases, yes. If the pipe has structural integrity — meaning it isn't collapsed — CIPP lining creates a new pipe inside the old one without excavation and at a fraction of the cost.

CIPP works in clay, cast iron, PVC, orangeburg, and concrete pipe. The liner bonds to the host pipe material regardless of age or condition, provided the pipe has structural continuity.

CIPP lining typically costs 30–60% less than open-cut replacement when factoring in the full cost of excavation, restoration, and property repair.

Most residential CIPP lining jobs complete in one day. We inspect, clean, line, and verify on camera — all in a single visit.
