Sewer Problem Signs your house is trying to tell you something.
Slow drains, sewage smells, gurgling toilets — none of these fix themselves. Every symptom points to a specific failure inside your sewer line. Learn what each sign means, how serious it is, and how LiningWorks fixes it without digging up your yard.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
What sewer problem signs actually mean.
Most sewer failures don't start with a sewage backup. They start with something small — a drain that's a little slower than usual, a faint smell that comes and goes, a toilet that gurgles when you run the shower. Homeowners call these "plumbing quirks." They are not.
Every one of these symptoms is your sewer line sending a signal. The difference between catching it early and replacing a full sewer line is often just a few months — and one camera inspection.
LiningWorks uses a high-definition sewer camera on every diagnosis. You see the crack, the root mass, or the offset on screen — before we ever quote a dollar of repair work.
Problem sign combinations you should never ignore.
One slow drain can be a fixture issue. Two or more of these signs together almost always means the main line. The sooner you call, the simpler — and less expensive — the fix.
Slow drains paired with gurgling sounds
If the toilet gurgles when you run the sink — or vice versa — that air is fighting past a partial blockage in the main line. This is a sewer line symptom, not a fixture problem.
Foul odors plus multiple slow drains
Sewer gas escaping indoors combined with slow drainage means a crack or offset joint is letting gas through and restricting flow at the same spot. Both signs from one defect.
Recurring clogs in the same line
If the same drain backs up within weeks of being snaked, the root cause — roots, a belly, scaled cast iron — is still inside the line. Snaking bought time. A camera inspection finds the real answer.
Any sewage backup in the home
Raw sewage coming up through a floor drain or toilet is a main-line emergency. Stop using fixtures immediately and call us — this does not resolve on its own.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

Lining Works was excellent to work with. They were perfectly professional. They were organized, efficient, and friendly throughout the whole process. They took time to answer all of our questions. Pipe lining is an incredible option and the team at Lining Works couldn't have been better. They were also transparent, honest, and consistent with their cost/pricing. We couldn't be happier. We feel very fortunate that we found Lining Works. Great guys!

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.

Why Charlotte homeowners call LiningWorks when they see problem signs.
We diagnose sewer problem signs the same way on every job — camera first, flat-rate quote second, no pressure to commit. Four things make our calls different.
Camera diagnosis on every problem-sign call
We don't guess at problem signs. A sewer camera goes down the line before we quote a single dollar of repair work — you see what we see, in real time.
NC-licensed, family-run crew
NC Plumbing License #16952. The same brothers diagnose and repair every problem-sign call — no dispatched subs, no rotating faces on your property.
Flat-rate quotes before any work starts
No hourly billing while a tech "investigates." One flat price, in writing, after the camera tells us what the problem sign actually is.
Fixed without digging your yard
Most sewer problem signs can be addressed with trenchless lining or hydro jetting — no torn-up lawn, no broken concrete, no surprise excavation.
Same three-step process whether you have one gurgling drain or sewage coming up through the floor.
01
Call and describe the problem signs
336-477-3218, Mon–Sat, 7AM–6PM. Tell us what you are seeing — slow drains, gurgling, smells — and we will tell you how urgent it is and exactly what to do right now.
02
We camera-diagnose your line
A technician runs a high-definition camera through your cleanout and walks the line with you. Every crack, root, or offset is measured to the foot and recorded — no guesswork.
03
Fix the root cause, not just the symptom
Flat-rate quote based on what the camera finds. Jetting, trenchless lining, or pipe bursting — whatever the problem sign actually needs, finished cleanly and backed by our workmanship guarantee.
