COMMON REASONS

When CIPP Pipe Lining is the right call.

Most failing sewer lines in Charlotte are ideal candidates for CIPP. Four problems show up over and over — and a cured-in-place liner handles every one without breaking concrete or tearing up the yard.

Common CIPP Pipe Lining situations:

CIPP for root-damaged joints

Hairline tree roots invade clay-tile and cast-iron joints. CIPP seals every joint with a jointless, smooth interior — roots cannot penetrate cured resin.

CIPP for cracked, leaking pipe

Cracks, fissures, and pinhole leaks all reseal under a cured liner. CIPP creates a structural pipe-within-a-pipe, rated for 50+ years of service.

CIPP for corroded cast iron

Decades-old cast iron pits and scales from the inside. CIPP bypasses the corrosion with a smooth, full-diameter resin liner that bonds to the host pipe.

CIPP for offset and bellied sections

Where a section has shifted or sagged, our pull-in-place CIPP bridges the defect with a single continuous liner — no excavation required.

CATCH PROBLEMS EARLY

Why CIPP Pipe Lining is a timing decision.

CIPP only works while the host pipe still holds its shape. The earlier we catch a failing line, the less invasive — and less expensive — the repair becomes.

Watch for these CIPP Pipe Lining triggers:

  • CIPP works best before total collapse
A cracked line still holds shape for a liner to cure inside. Once the pipe collapses, CIPP is no longer an option — excavation becomes necessary.
  • CIPP catches root regrowth between snakings
Snaking buys months. CIPP buys decades — roots cannot regrow through a jointless cured liner.
  • CIPP protects trees, driveways and hardscape
Excavation kills mature trees and breaks driveways. Catching the problem in time means CIPP can save everything above the line.
  • A scheduled CIPP install beats an emergency every time
Emergency callout rates and same-day mobilisation add significant cost. A planned CIPP job is always less expensive than a panic repair.

SERVICE PROCESS

How our CIPP Pipe Lining process holds up.

A CIPP install is only as good as the prep, the resin, and the verification. Four standards make every LiningWorks CIPP job consistent.

CIPP starts with HD camera diagnosis

Every CIPP job opens with a sewer camera scope. You see the defects on screen — that footage becomes part of the liner specification.

CIPP requires hydro-jetted prep

We hydro-jet the host pipe spotless so the resin liner bonds correctly. No shortcut here — clean wall, good cure, long-life liner.

CIPP uses field-saturated liner resin

We wet-out the felt liner with two-part epoxy on site, custom-sized to your run. No pre-mixed inventory, no expired resin.

CIPP is verified with a second scope

After the cure, we run a second camera scope end to end. You watch the new pipe-within-a-pipe on screen and keep both videos.

SIMPLE PROCESS

The CIPP Pipe Lining process, step by step.

Same five-step sequence on every residential CIPP job — whether the run is 28 feet or 280 feet.

Camera-scope the line before any CIPP work.
Step 1

Camera-scope the line before any CIPP work.

Every CIPP project starts with a high-resolution sewer camera. We map cracks, offsets, root mass, and city-tap geometry — so the liner spec matches the real line, not a guess.

Step 2

Hydro-jet the host pipe so the CIPP liner can bond.

A pressurized water jet strips the host pipe wall clean. CIPP requires a spotless interior — any grease, scale, or root debris gets cleared before the liner ever sees the line.

Step 3

Wet-out the felt liner with CIPP resin on site.

Our team saturates the felt liner tube with two-part epoxy resin in the truck. The liner is custom-cut to your run length and diameter — no off-the-shelf inventory.

Pull the saturated liner into position inside the host pipe.
Step 4

Pull the saturated liner into position inside the host pipe.

We pull the resin-saturated liner through the existing pipe using a continuous pulling cord. The liner inverts as it advances, pressing resin against the host pipe wall from the inside.

Step 5

Cure and verify the finished CIPP liner with a second scope.

We inflate the liner under controlled pressure while the resin cures hard. Once cured, a second camera scope verifies the finished liner end to end. You keep both video files.

BEFORE & AFTER

CIPP fixed: a 1954 Myers Park home, root damage from cleanout to tap.

Annual snaking had kept the line limping along for four years. LiningWorks scoped and found root infiltration at seven joint locations across the 64-foot run. We lined the full run in one day — roots sealed permanently. The post-lining scope showed a smooth, jointless bore from cleanout to city tap.

CIPP is the right call when root infiltration or cracking spans more than a few feet. One liner run, one flat price, and the problem is solved for decades rather than months.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.

FAQ

CIPP Pipe Lining — Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers — same way we'd explain it on the phone.

CIPP stands for Cured-In-Place Pipe. It is a trenchless pipe rehabilitation method where a resin-saturated flexible liner is inserted into a damaged pipe and cured in place to form a new structural pipe inside the old one.

We insert a resin-saturated liner using the inversion method — air pressure pushes the liner through the existing pipe, pressing it uniformly against the pipe wall. Heat or UV light then cures the resin, creating a hard, jointless new pipe.

Yes. CIPP is ideal for residential sewer laterals, typically 4 to 8 inches in diameter. It is installed through your existing cleanout without excavating your yard, driveway, or foundation.

Clay tile, cast iron, PVC, orangeburg, and concrete pipes can all be lined. The key requirement is that the pipe has enough structural continuity for the liner to pass through — a camera inspection confirms suitability.

Most residential CIPP jobs are completed in one day. Liner installation takes a few hours; curing takes two to four hours; post-installation camera verification is performed the same day before we leave.
