WHY HOMEOWNERS TRUST US
Why Charlotte homeowners call LiningWorks about Sewer Odor Around Property.
Sewer odor around a property is a structural signal, not a housekeeping problem. We treat every sewer odor call as a camera diagnosis — not a plunger call.
Sewer Odor Around Property traced by HD camera, not guesswork
A sewer camera maps exactly where gas is escaping before we quote any repair. You see the defect on screen — crack, offset, or open joint.
Sewer Odor Around Property investigated by a licensed plumber
NC Plumbing License #16952. Every sewer odor call is handled by a licensed technician, not a call-center dispatcher.

Sewer Odor Around Property eliminated without digging
Most sewer odor sources in Charlotte can be sealed with CIPP lining through the existing cleanout — no excavation, no broken concrete.
Sewer Odor Around Property warning signs you should never ignore.
Sewer odors are not just unpleasant — they are a health concern and a structural signal. Four odor patterns we take seriously.
Rotten-egg or sewage smell coming from floor drains or toilets
Sewer gas escaping indoors through fixture traps means gas is present at line pressure — the source is an open defect in the main line.
Sewage smell in the yard concentrated over the sewer path
An odor plume that tracks directly along the sewer run points to an underground leak. Gas rises from a crack or open joint — the location of the smell is the location of the defect.
Sewer odor that worsens after rain or irrigation
Heavy ground moisture forces gas out of open pipe defects faster. If the sewer odor around your property is strongest after rain, the defect is underground and open.
Sewer odor combined with any slow drain or backup
Odor plus drainage issues means one defect is both leaking gas and restricting flow. The two symptoms together almost always require pipe repair or replacement.
The most common causes of Sewer Odor Around Property in Charlotte.
After hundreds of sewer odor calls in Charlotte, nearly every case traces back to one of four structural defects.
Cracked pipe causing Sewer Odor Around Property
A crack in the pipe wall — from soil movement, root pressure, or age — opens a vent for sewer gas. The odor rises directly above the crack.
Root-opened joints causing Sewer Odor Around Property
Tree roots pry open clay-tile and cast-iron joints over years. An open joint is an open gas vent — and the #1 cause of sewer odor in older Charlotte neighborhoods.
Offset or separated pipe causing Sewer Odor Around Property
When pipe sections shift apart, the gap becomes an active leak point for both liquid and gas. Sewer odor around the property above a pipe belly or offset is a classic sign.
Dry P-trap allowing Sewer Odor into the home
A floor drain that is rarely used can lose its water trap seal — allowing sewer gas to enter from inside. Pour a cup of water into unused drains if the odor is indoors.
Sewer Odor Around Property eliminated: a Myers Park case.
The homeowners had noticed a sewage smell in their back yard for two summers. Three different inspections found nothing. Our camera found a 3-inch offset joint under the back porch slab — leaking both liquid and gas. We lined the run from cleanout to city tap in one day. The sewer odor was gone by the following morning.
Sewer odor around property almost always has a single structural source. The camera finds it — and CIPP lining seals it for good.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.
