COMMON REASONS

When CIPP is the right drain cleaning solution.

CIPP drain lining handles structural failures that jetting and snaking cannot fix. Four drain problems show up repeatedly in Charlotte that CIPP resolves without breaking concrete or tearing out walls.

Common CIPP drain lining situations:

CIPP for drain lines with root intrusion through joints

Root tendrils invade clay-tile and cast-iron joints year after year. CIPP lining seals every joint in the run with a continuous, jointless interior — roots cannot regrow through cured epoxy resin.

CIPP for cracked or leaking drain pipe walls

Longitudinal cracks, pinhole perforations, and settled joints all reseal under a CIPP liner. The cured liner creates a structural pipe-within-a-pipe rated for 50+ years of service.

CIPP for corroded and pitting cast iron drains

Decades-old cast iron corrodes from the inside. CIPP bypasses the corrosion with a smooth, full-bore resin liner — no excavation, no pipe replacement, no concrete breaking.

CIPP for offset and belly drain sections

Where a drain section has shifted or sagged, a pull-in-place CIPP liner bridges the defect with a single continuous liner that seals the offset and restores flow geometry.

CATCH PROBLEMS EARLY

Why CIPP drain lining is a timing decision.

CIPP lining only works while the host drain still holds its shape. The earlier we catch a failing drain line, the less invasive and less expensive the repair. Four reasons to schedule a camera scope before the pipe gives up.

Watch for these CIPP drain lining triggers:

  • CIPP works best before the drain pipe collapses
A cracked drain can still be lined. A collapsed drain cannot — at that point excavation is the only option, with concrete breaking and full pipe replacement. Catching cracks early keeps CIPP on the table.
  • CIPP stops root regrowth permanently
Snaking clears roots for months. CIPP lining removes every joint the roots entered through — they cannot regrow through cured, jointless epoxy resin. One CIPP install vs. annual snaking visits.
  • CIPP preserves floors, walls, and landscaping
Excavating to replace a drain line breaks concrete floors, opens walls, and disrupts landscaping. CIPP accesses through existing cleanouts — no breaking, no removal, no restoration cost.
  • A scheduled CIPP install beats an emergency every time
Emergency plumbing rates, same-day mobilisation, and excavation equipment on short notice all add cost before any work starts. A planned CIPP install on a slow-draining pipe is always less expensive.

SERVICE PROCESS

How our CIPP drain lining process holds up.

A CIPP drain lining install is only as good as the prep, the resin, and the verification. Four standards make every LiningWorks CIPP job consistent.

CIPP drain lining starts with HD camera diagnosis

Every CIPP job opens with a sewer camera scope. You see the defects on screen — that footage becomes the liner specification for your specific run.

CIPP drain lining requires hydro-jetted and descaled prep

We hydro-jet and descale the host drain spotless so the resin liner bonds correctly. Clean wall, good cure, long-life liner. Skipping prep is how liners delaminate.

CIPP drain lining uses field-saturated epoxy liner

We wet-out the felt liner with two-part epoxy resin on site, custom-sized to your run length and pipe diameter. No pre-mixed inventory, no expired resin from storage.

CIPP drain lining is verified with a second scope

After the cure, we run a second camera scope end to end. You watch the new pipe-within-a-pipe and keep both videos — before and after — on a USB drive.

SIMPLE PROCESS

The Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining (CIPP) process, step by step.

Same five-step Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining (CIPP) sequence on every residential job in Charlotte. Here is exactly how it works.

Camera-scope the drain before any CIPP lining work.
Step 1

Camera-scope the drain before any CIPP lining work.

Every CIPP drain lining project starts with a high-resolution camera. We map cracks, root intrusions, offsets, and city-tap geometry — so the liner spec matches the real drain, not a guess.

Step 2

Hydro-jet and descale the host drain before CIPP lining.

Pressurized water and a mechanical descaling head strip the host drain wall clean. CIPP lining requires a spotless interior — any scale, grease, or root debris gets removed before the liner enters the line.

Step 3

Wet-out the felt liner with the CIPP drain lining resin.

We field-saturate a felt liner with two-part epoxy resin, custom-sized to your run. The CIPP liner is mixed on site so the cure window matches the install temperature and pipe diameter.

Pull-in-place and cure the CIPP liner inside the host drain.
Step 4

Pull-in-place and cure the CIPP liner inside the host drain.

The liner is pulled into the host drain, inflated tight against the wall, and cured with ambient or steam-assisted heat. The CIPP drain lining becomes a smooth, jointless structural pipe inside the old one.

Camera-verify the finished CIPP drain lining end to end.
Step 5

Camera-verify the finished CIPP drain lining end to end.

A second camera scope walks the cured liner from cleanout to main. You watch the finished CIPP drain lining on screen, sign off, and keep both the before and after videos on a USB drive.

BEFORE & AFTER

CIPP drain lining, before and after: a Plaza Midwood case.

A 1952 Plaza Midwood ranch home with 40 feet of 4-inch cast-iron drain that had fractured along three longitudinal seams. Annual snaking had kept it flowing for years — the camera finally showed the fractures clearly enough to recommend CIPP. One CIPP lining visit restored the run completely. No excavation, no concrete breaking, existing cleanout used as the access point.

Most CIPP drain lining jobs we run in Charlotte follow the same arc: camera, prep, liner, cure, verify. One day on site, one flat price, a 50-year-rated drain that flows like it did when the house was built.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.
