WHY HOMEOWNERS TRUST US
Why Charlotte homeowners call LiningWorks first for Sewer Backup or Overflow.
Sewer backup and overflow require a fast, camera-verified response. Four things make our sewer backup service different from every other drain company in Charlotte.
Emergency Sewer Backup response, licensed crew
NC Plumbing License #16952. Every sewer backup call is handled by a licensed technician who can diagnose and clear the blockage on the same visit.
Sewer Backup cause confirmed by camera
Before we clear the blockage, we run a camera so you see exactly what caused the sewer backup — roots, grease, pipe collapse, or blockage.
Flat-rate Sewer Backup pricing
One price quoted before we start the clearance work. No hourly billing while we respond to a sewer backup emergency.
Sewer Backup cleared without digging
Most sewer backups can be cleared by hydro jetting or snaking in a single visit — no excavation required in the majority of cases.
Four warning signs before a Sewer Backup or Overflow happens.
Sewer backup rarely happens without warning. These are the four symptoms that consistently precede a full backup — each one a reason to call before water comes up through the floor.
Watch for these Sewer Backup warning signs:
Multiple drains slowing down at the same time
When every fixture in the house drains slowly together, a main-line blockage is building. This is the most common precursor to a full sewer backup.
Toilets gurgling when you run the shower or sink
Air displaced by a growing blockage is the cause. This means the obstruction is in the main line — not a fixture-level problem.
Sewage smell from floor drains or cleanout caps
Sewer gas rising back through floor drains means the blockage is forcing pressure back up the line. A sewer backup is close.
Water or sewage visible at the cleanout cap
If your cleanout cap is wet or has sewage around it, the main sewer line is at or near full capacity. This is an emergency — call immediately.
The most common causes of Sewer Backup or Overflow.
We have cameras down more backed-up sewer lines than we can count. Almost every sewer backup traces back to one of these four causes.
What causes Sewer Backup or Overflow:
Root intrusion causing Sewer Backup
Roots enter at joints and grow into a mass that eventually blocks the full pipe diameter. Root-caused sewer backups are the most common type we see in Charlotte.
Grease and debris blockage causing Sewer Backup
Years of grease, soap, and food debris coat the pipe walls until the effective diameter drops to near zero. Heavy rainfall often triggers the final backup event.
Pipe collapse causing sudden Sewer Backup
Older clay-tile or cast-iron pipe can collapse at a joint or mid-run, blocking flow completely. Collapse-caused sewer backups happen without prior slow-drain warning.
Municipal sewer overflow backing into your line
When the city sewer main surcharges during heavy rain, sewage can reverse into private lateral lines. Camera inspection confirms whether the backup source is municipal or private.
A Dilworth homeowner called at 7 AM with sewage backing into the first-floor bathroom. The camera found a root mass 34 feet from the cleanout that had grown to block 90% of the pipe. We hydro-jetted the mass and verified with a post-clearance camera by noon.
The homeowner had a clean drain line and camera footage documenting the cause — useful for their homeowner’s insurance. One flat price, one visit, sewer backup resolved.

We had a plumbing emergency around the holiday's and called a local plumbing company. They cleared the line and quoted a pretty high price to dig up my yard and fix the damaged sewer line. The next day I found LiningWorks online and called Jeremiah. He was very helpful and confident they could fix my sewer line without digging. Seemed too good to be true. The lining has been installed, yard not damaged and looks to have resolved the break. Jeremiah even offered to come back and scope it at a later time to ensure it's all good. Highly recommend Lining Works for any situation where you can't or don't want to dig. Thanks guys!

LiningWorks was top notch. We had a sewer main that got damaged and was completely blocked up. They were able to clear the drain, remove all issues, and reline the entire sewer main without cutting out my driveway and yard. And they were able to get the job done in one day. I would and plan to do business these guys again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Where do I begin? Let's just say I had an absolute nightmare on my hands for about 5 years with my sewage. I had one company quote me 7k after he snaked my sewage line and from there I just kept snaking it every year. I dreaded the oncoming financial disaster but I bit the bullet and called LiningWorks. BEST home decision of 5 years. Jeremiah came out and tackled this chaos with grace and integrity. He got down to the root of it — after years of money, anxiety, and frustration he found out it was a city problem! I will definitely be calling LiningWorks when my lining needs replacing. Call them now, you will not be disappointed.

I am very happy with the work that was done and the clean up after the job was done. Jeremiah and Ralph are very professional and skilled in their craft. I received an estimate and the job did exceed the original estimate. I contacted them about it and they were very understanding and explained why.

The main drain line in our airbnb kept clogging up, filling the house with an awful sewage smell. We had drain cleaners come out to clear the line every couple months but it finally got so bad we had to close off our bookings. LiningWorks were very prompt in coming out. We discovered tree roots had broken up our line. Our sewage line runs under a tree and 6ft deep through our crawlspace so digging it up was going to be a nightmare. Liningworks was able to cut the tree roots out and line the pipe without any digging so that it's as good as new. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing sewage line repair.
