Hydro Jetting that clears blockages other methods leave behind.

LiningWorks hydro jetting fires water at up to 4,000 PSI through your drain lines, cutting through grease columns, root masses, and mineral scale that a snake just punches through and leaves behind. It’s the most thorough drain clean available.

COMMON REASONS

When Hydro Jetting is the right call.

Most drain problems we see in Charlotte homes fall into a handful of familiar patterns: grease that hardens into a coating, fine roots working into a joint, or years of mineral scale narrowing the pipe from the inside. Hydro jetting clears all four without chemicals or digging.

Common Hydro Jetting situations:

Hydro Jetting for grease coated kitchen and bath lines

Cooking grease and soap film build up layer by layer until the pipe narrows to a fraction of its size. Hydro jetting strips the coating back to bare pipe instead of leaving it in place.

Hydro Jetting for fine roots at pipe joints

Fine root masses work into clay tile and cast iron joints looking for moisture. A cable cuts through the center of the mass, but hydro jetting clears the roots from the joint itself.

Hydro Jetting for scale in aging cast iron

Cast iron installed decades ago corrodes and scales from the inside until the opening shrinks. Hydro jetting removes the buildup layer by layer, with no chemicals that could speed up the corrosion.

Hydro Jetting for lines that clog again after snaking

If the same drain needs snaking every few months, the walls are still coated even though the center is clear. Hydro jetting is the step that actually stops the cycle.

WHAT IT IS

What Hydro Jetting actually does to your pipes.

Hydro jetting uses a specialized nozzle and a high-pressure pump to deliver a 360-degree water blast through your drain line. The forward jet clears the path; the rearward jets scrub the pipe walls clean from root debris, grease, and mineral scale.

Unlike snaking, which creates a hole through a clog, hydro jetting removes the clog entirely and scours the pipe walls back to their original diameter. The result is a line that flows like new — not a line with a fresh hole punched through a mass that’s still there.

Before we jet, we run a sewer camera inspection to confirm the pipe can handle high pressure. That step also tells us exactly where the blockage is, how severe it is, and whether hydro jetting is the right tool or whether a liner is the better fix.

Hydro jetting is safe on PVC, cast iron, clay tile, and ABS pipe. We adjust PSI to the pipe material — aggressive where the buildup demands it, controlled where the pipe is older.

WHEN YOU NEED IT

Four drain problems that Hydro Jetting solves permanently.

Snaking clears the center of a clog. Hydro jetting eliminates it. Here are the four problems where hydro jetting is the only tool that delivers a lasting result.

  • Grease columns that keep coming back after snaking
A snake punches through a grease mass but leaves the walls coated. Hydro jetting strips the walls clean so the same clog can’t rebuild itself in two weeks.
  • Root masses that a cable can’t fully remove
A cable shreds roots in the center of the pipe. Hydro jetting cuts the roots at the pipe wall and flushes every piece out — so they can’t grab debris and reform.
  • Mineral scale and calcium buildup in cast iron
Decades-old cast iron narrows from the inside with mineral deposits. Hydro jetting strips the scale layer by layer, restoring full pipe diameter without chemicals.
  • Commercial drain lines with heavy daily grease load
Restaurant and commercial kitchen drain lines build up grease faster than residential lines. Regular hydro jetting is the only maintenance that keeps them open.

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS

How our Hydro Jetting service works, step by step.

A LiningWorks hydro jetting visit is camera-first. We never jet blind — every job starts with a live pipe inspection so we know exactly what we’re clearing and how much pressure to use.

1. Camera inspection before hydro jetting

We run an HD sewer camera through your cleanout before we jet. You see the blockage on screen, we confirm the pipe condition, and we select the right PSI for your line.

2. High-pressure pump and jetting rig arrive on site

One truck, one technician, all the equipment needed for a complete hydro jetting service. Most residential hydro jetting visits take two to three hours on site.

3. Hydro jetting clears the full pipe diameter

The jetting nozzle is fed through the cleanout and walked down the line. Water at up to 4,000 PSI strips the walls and pushes all debris downstream to the sewer main.

4. Post-jetting camera confirms a clean line

After hydro jetting, we run the camera again. You see the pipe walls before and after — clear evidence the blockage is gone and the line is flowing at full capacity.

SIMPLE PROCESS

The Hydro Jetting process, step by step.

Same five-step Hydro Jetting sequence on every job, whether it is a single kitchen line or a full commercial run. Here is how it actually works.

Step 1

Camera scope the line before any Hydro Jetting work.

Every Hydro Jetting visit starts with a high resolution sewer camera. We confirm where the blockage sits, what it is made of, and how the pipe material and condition should shape the pressure we use.

Step 2

Confirm pipe condition and set the right jetting pressure.

PSI is not one size fits all. A newer PVC line can handle an aggressive setting; an older clay tile or cast iron run gets a gentler pass. We set the pressure to the pipe, not the other way around.

Step 3

Feed the jetting hose and nozzle through the cleanout.

The rig stages at your existing cleanout, so there is no digging and no new access point to cut. The nozzle carries forward and rearward jets, so it clears a path and scrubs the walls in the same pass.

Step 4

Walk the nozzle down the full length of the line.

Water at up to 4,000 PSI strips grease, roots, and scale off the pipe wall and pushes the debris downstream to the main. We work the full run, not just the section where the clog was found.

Step 5

A second camera pass confirms the pipe is clear from cleanout to city tap. You see the before and after footage side by side and know exactly what changed.

Before After

BEFORE & AFTER

Hydro Jetting before and after: a Charlotte restaurant kitchen drain.

A Plaza Midwood restaurant had a kitchen drain backing up every two weeks despite monthly snaking. The camera found a grease column four feet long with root intrusion at the city-tap joint. One hydro jetting visit stripped the walls clean and cut the roots at the source.

FAQ

Hydro Jetting: Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers, the same way we would explain it on the phone.

Hydro jetting uses a specialized nozzle and a high-pressure pump to send water through your drain line at up to 4,000 PSI. It scours grease, roots, and mineral scale off the full pipe wall instead of just punching a path through the middle of a clog.

Snaking cuts a path through the center of a clog and leaves the coating on the pipe walls in place. Hydro jetting strips the walls clean, which is why the line stays open longer.

Yes, when the pressure is matched to the pipe. We run a camera inspection first to check the pipe material and condition, then set the PSI accordingly. Older or more fragile lines get a gentler setting than a straight PVC run.

Yes. Every hydro jetting job starts with a camera so we can see what is actually causing the clog and confirm the pipe can handle the pressure. If the line is failing structurally instead of just needing a cleaning, we will tell you that instead of jetting a pipe that needs lining.
